Gen. Muhammadu Buhari during the party’s presidential rally in Jaling on Wednesday pledged to tackle insurgency and corruption, if elected president in the Feb. 14 presidential election. He said “Nigeria has the capacity to end terrorism and corruption if appropriate measures are put in place. I urge you to give me the mandate and I will use my experience to end the ugly incidents,” Buhari said that 60 per cent of Nigerian youths are unemployed and such situation makes them prone to violence. He also promised to complete the Mambilla Hydroelectric Dam project to generate electricity and boost agriculture through irrigation.
